Eyelet Braids

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I braided my hair in a combination of a 4-strand braid, a zig-zag part, and a Dutch braid.  I braided the length of my hair in what @haartraum likes to call a hybrid braid, which is basically a chunky fishtail.  I love how this style turned out, it's great for days like yesterday when you are trying to go just one more day without washing your hair ;)

Thank you for coming to see my post!  I hope you have a lovely day.  By the way, I called this eyelet braids because the outer edge of my 4-strand reminded me of eyelet lace :)

French style side bun

Hello friends,

How exciting to pass 5,000 likes on my Facebook page for braids and hairstyles!  And my blog is within days of reaching 1 million views, so we have lots of reasons to celebrate :-)

I love side bun hairstyles, and when they are combined with a headband braid they are super nice.  This hairstyle is a side hybrid braid with a 3-strand braid directly behind it, ending in a side bun.  Thank you so much for visiting my blog!  As a bonus, I added a couple of pictures of my look today~ a mermaid look to go with my favorite "mermaid" clip <3

Tribal Mohawk Braided Ponytail

Hi everyone,

Today I wore a simple dress that has a tribal pattern to the material, so I fixed my hair in a Mohawk style to match.  My braid is a version of a fishtail braid called a hybrid braid.  The basic concept is the same as a fishtail, except you use extremely large pieces of hair instead of tiny pieces.  That's why this braid looks not quite like a French braid, but not quite like a fishtail.  I love it because it lasts all day long without getting fuzzy, always a plus to any braid in my opinion.

Thanks so much for coming to see my pictures!  I wish you a wonderful day.

Easy to see why this is called a "crab ginger"

Banana Braid

Hi everyone,

What hairstyle could possibly be more perfect for a morning in Micronesia, than a banana braid?  My braid today seemed to be an exact match to the bunch of bananas hanging from a tree in our back yard~ how fun!  This braided hairstyle is a stacked braid headband, combined with a side hybrid-braid ponytail.  I love how this braided style has lasted all day long without looking fuzzy or messy.

Thank you for visiting my blog!  I hope you have a lovely week.

My sweet Japanese friend made these special bobby pins for me, they have my initial on them <3
