Four-strand French braid~ my look for today

I love the look of a French braid made with four-strands as opposed to the normal three-strand version. It's neat how one side of the braid looks like a French braid and the other side looks like a Dutch braid. Here are some more pictures of my look for today:

My braid was too long to wear all the way down, so I folded it up till it was a comfortable length. Then I wrapped the end of my braid around several times and clipped it in place.

Four-strand braids are a nice way to make your hair look super thick!

Thanks for looking at my post :-)

  1. I would like to borrow your idea with folding braid like this, because my hair becomes too long as well. I wonder how long your braid now and at whitch length you stoped to wear it (your braid) down?

    1. Thank you for your comment! My braid is just a few inches above ankle-length now. I stopped wearing my hair down in a full-length braid a few years ago~ I got tired of having it swish around like a tail (also of getting caught on stuff, etc.)

    2. Actually I find those crazy swinging motions of my braid pretty funny, but you are right, sometimes it brings some inconvenience.

I really, really love your butterfly clips that you have on in a lot of your updos! Where do you get them? :)

    1. Aww, thank you! I get my hairclips at a store here locally...they have had some really pretty ones! Now they are running low, but hopefully soon they will restock.

    2. Aw, they have such pretty clips. I wonder if there's a store here in the US that has clips like that?

Also, I'm curious- do you know how long your hair currently is? Have you reached terminal? Is super long hair common in the islands where you live?

Every time I see your updos, I'm inspired to change my goal length to see maybe how long I can grow it ^^

    3. Thank you so much for your kind comments! There is one place on-line where I have found some really pretty hair jewels and other hair toys~ the address is http://www.sophiasstyle.com/ In fact I'll be posting some new pictures probably tomorrow that show one of the hair forks I got from this website.

I got out the tape measure just now to find out the answer to how long my hair is~ from the crown of my head to the bottom of my hairline is 61 inches. I measured the circumference of my ponytail, too, out of curiosity, and it is 5 inches. That was a pleasant surprise!

Most of the girls here have waist-length hair, although some have hair that is much longer, knee-length or beyond. The island girls all have black hair, very thick and straight.

Thank you for following my posts! I love sharing these pictures with you all.
