"Lob" (Long Bob) for Super Long Hair

Hey everybody!

Yesterday I washed my hair in the morning and braided it into two braided buns while it was still wet.  Today when I took the braids out, my hair had a nice beach-wave look.  So instead of combing all that texture out, I put it up into a high ponytail.  Then I folded my hair up and over, into a "short" ponytail.

Later this morning when I was looking at Fox News, I noticed that this look is very similar to a "lob" which, according to the article, is Hollywood's hottest haircut for Spring 2013.  I guess I was on the cutting edge of fashion without realizing it :-)

So...after that long intro, here are some pictures of my version of a "lob" hairstyle:

Thanks for looking!  If you would like to read the article, here is the link: The Lob: Hollywood's Hottest Haircut

  1. Can you explain again how you got your hair to look so short? I've tried some of the fake bob looks before, but haven't gotten them to work, but if it works with your hair, I must be able to do it!

    1. Sure! I'll try to make it clearer~ First I put my hair up into a high ponytail. Then, I held my ponytail at the half-way point, and folded my hair up once. The bottom half of my ponytail was hanging down, covering the folded part. But I wrapped that bottom section around the base of my high ponytail, and pulled the top of the folded section up a little bit to cover the wrapped-around hair. I hope this makes sense!

    2. Oh, and I held it all in place with these two matching clips, one on each side. My hair held all day long, until I took it down that night.

  3. I just tried to do it at home. Fluffy ponytail down to my shoulders only feels reeeally weird :D
I wonder how long this style lasted at your hair?

    1. Haha, yes, it can take a while to get used to short hair! This style lasted all day, especially when I flip my hair up and over...almost like the "inside" of my hair is what you're seeing on top...sounds confusing!
When I first tried this style a few months ago, I flipped my hair up and under. As the day went on, though, I had some fly-aways hanging down. I don't have that trouble when I do it like these pictures.
