Marguerite Updo

Hello friends,

     One of my favorite books of all is The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy.  I've lost count of how many times I've read it.  My updo today reminds me of a style the heroine Marguerite might wear.  It is a braided bun, and I used the ends of my two braids to make a bow directly beneath my bun.  I love the way the tail ends of my "bow" curl slightly and add such interest to this hairstyle.  It's a way of wearing your hair up, but showing a little curl and length at the same time.

Braided Bow Ponytail

Hi friends,

     I absolutely love how this hairstyle turned out.  The day before, I made an updo with a variety of braids gathered together into a side bun.  I slept with the braids in, but instead of taking them out the next morning I tried something new.  I piled my hair into a high ponytail, then made a "hair bow" at the top and put a flower clip in the middle of my bow for an accent.  I love this look and definitely want to do it again.

Braided Bow Updo

Hello everyone!

I hope you are having a good Memorial Day week-end with your family and friends.  I went to a triple wedding this morning and had a new dress to wear~ that happened to be my favorite color, hot pink :-)  I tried to fix my hair in an extra fancy way since today was special, and here are some pictures of how it turned out!

The secret to this look~ a ton of bobby pins!  There were so many I felt like a pin-cushion :-p
