Chignon inspired by @georgiykot, because hairstyles can take you places!

Hello friends,

On Tuesday I watched several tutorial videos from @georgiykot, and tried out a big hair chignon on my own hair.  The side braid is a 4-strand push-up braid, which I absolutely love.  As it happened, my hairstyle that day literally opened up the chance for me to travel to Guam!  How fun to experience the truth that your hair can truly take you places :-)

Faux Basket Weave Updo

Hi friends,

My look for today was simple to create but looks complicated.  I made three 4-strand push-up braids, then put the rest of my loose hair into a low bun.  I arranged my three push-up braids across the top part of my hair, and noticed that they had a basket weave look (that was much easier than an actual basket weave effect!)  I love push-up braids, they are the perfect accent braid to any hairstyle.

Afternoon Flair

Hello everybody,

I hope you are having a peaceful and wonderful week so far.  Today I took advantage of the Florida summer weather and wore my new white dress again~ with a fancy braided updo as my hairstyle.  I made a 4-strand push-up braid, a small sideways French braid, and then a braided side bun.  I decorated the outside of my bun with the end of my push-up braid, and held my hair in place with several hair clips.  I love push-up braids!  They are so easy to make, and still look extremely intricate.  They add flair to any hairstyle.

Chain braids, great accents for a smooth bun

Hi friends,

Thank you for all the views and comments on my new length pictures, I was so excited to get to share them with you here on my blog.  Today I fixed my hair in a simple smooth bun with three chain braids as accents.  (Chain braids are what I like to call a 3-strand push-up braid.)

Accented French Braid

Hi everybody,

I loved the double-braid/push-up accent combination so much that I decided to try another version, this time using a push-up braid and a lace braid to accent my French braid.  Adding small accents to a French braid are a quick and easy way to make an extra-special hairstyle.
(A surprise Christmas waltz with Santa Goofy~ who also liked my hair-do :-)
