Twist & Shout

Hi everyone,

Some days all you can think to do is twist, clip, twist, clip, twist clip....Friday was one of those days 😊

Don't you love pink bougainvillea?  What a lovely background for any hairstyle, no matter how easy.

Royal Blue Peacock Updo

Hi friends,

Happy Chinese New Year!  I wore my new peacock hair clip in my hair today, I got it on my recent trip to Singapore.  My hairstyle is a series of twisted sections of hair, pinned in place with bobby pins.  My bun is three rope braids pinned randomly with even more bobby pins.  I would not have made it through a metal detector with this hairstyle!

My style for stripes and lace

Hi friends,

Today I wore a new casual top that has stripes and a lace block hem.  I added a lace bow in my hair, and fixed my hair in a big low bun style with small twisted sections on either side like stripes to match my shirt.  Thank you for checking out my new post!  I wish you a lovely day.

Field of Flowers Updo

Hi friends,

This hairstyle seems to go perfectly with a field of ginger and other flowers in the background, plus the flowers on my dress.  My updo is basically a series of twisted sections of hair with a big bun, all clipped in place with my favorite small hair clips.  No braiding needed to create this style :-)

One twist at a time

Hello friends,

This morning my hairstyle was simple, I just picked up a section of hair at a time and twisted it back, adding a little extra hair as I went.  After making 5 or 6 twisted sections, I put the length of my hair into a low bun that I held in place with hair clips.  As simple as can be yet still flattering from the front view, which is always a bonus.

Thank you for visiting my blog!  Please come again soon, and be sure to look through past posts to get more ideas for braids and hairstyles that go perfectly with super long hair 😊

French Twist High Bun

Hello friends,

I love my new mirror, it is perfect for making French braids (and French twist) hairstyles ;)  Actually it is an excellent way to see the back of my head when I am fixing my hair~ I just set it on my dresser in front of the mirror on my wall and I can see the front of my head and the back at the same time.

Today I fixed my hair in twist sections brought together into a high bun.  Mostly my hair is held in place with bobby pins.  The two flower clips are mostly accents.
