Micronesian Girl~ Veronica Lake hairstyle

Hello friends,

My sweet friend had the prettiest hairstyle a few days ago, the side-swept look reminds me of the actress Veronica Lake.  What perfect, tiny cornrow braids!  Someone in my friend's family has some serious hairbraiding skills ;-)

Hair Bow

Hi everyone,

I finally found a video that helped me learn how to make an actual hair bow~ what a cute idea!  I kept this hair bow as the main point of focus, and draped the length of my hair loosely over one shoulder.  I can't wait to add a random hair bow to other hairstyles in the future, how very feminine and fun :-)

Springtime Waterfall Updo

Hello friends,

How wonderful to be back in my island home, for many reasons~ one of the top reasons being that now I can post more regularly on my blog!  Today I fixed my hair in a side updo style, using two criss-crossed waterfall braids.  This hairstyle has a fun, springtime feel that just matches my dress.

Thank you so much for coming to see my new post!  Please check back soon to see new braids and hairstyles.  I hope to reach one million views by my birthday in June.  Feel free to browse through my past posts and share your favorites with friends.  You can help direct new viewers my way <3

Side-swept updo on a grey Sunday morning

Hello friends,

Today was a grey, cold morning~ perfect for wearing my new winter dress and booties.  I washed my hair early this morning, and while it was still slightly damp I put it up in a side updo.  The side look seemed to go great with the high collar of my dress.
Thank you for visiting my blog!  I love to share hairstyle pictures with you here and on Facebook.  Have a lovely day!

Southern Cross Hairstyle

Hello friends,

Happy Sunday :-)  Today I wanted to use the beautiful hairclips that I got as a gift from a friend in Germany.  I ended up using them as side accents to this hairstyle, and the overall effect reminded me of the Southern Cross which appears in the sky over my island <3
To make this hairstyle, I basically made a series of small buns to one side of my head and pinned them in place with hairpins and bobby pins.  For the last section of hair, instead of making a bun I made a braid.  I took this braid and wrapped it up and around my row of buns, pinning it in place as I liked.  I added a jewel clip to one side to emphasize the side-swept look, then added the three star clips as accents on my smooth hair.
This hairstyle lasts forever!  After a long, windblown day there is literally not a hair out of place.  I even contemplated sleeping on my side so I could wear my hair like this again tomorrow :-)
